Three arrests as police helicopter used in search for stolen car
Shortly before 7am on Thursday, September 3, Northumbria Police received a report a black car had been stolen from an address on Galsworthy Road, in Whiteleas.
It later made three arrests in connection with the suspected theft.

Hide AdA spokesperson for the force said: “The vehicle was spotted a short time later by officers from our operations department while they were out on patrol, but made off from the scene when asked to stop.


“The vehicle was then sighted by police in the North Tyneside area and once again, when asked to stop by officers and made off from the scene.
"A short pursuit then ensued and with the assistance of the National Police Air Service (NPAS), the car was found abandoned near Howden Road just after 9.05am.

Hide Ad“An investigation was subsequently launched to trace the driver and the two occupants.
"A 20-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the incident were released with no further action to be taken.
"The 20-year-old man driver arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle has since been released under investigation.”
