Victim suffers neck and leg injuries in South Shields stabbing

Officers were called to St Marks Way shortly before 7.30pm last night, Monday, September 7, and discovered the man with multiple injuries.
It was reported a group of men had approached the victim in a car before jumping out of the vehicle and assaulting him.

Hide AdEmergency services found the victim with non-life threatening injuries to his leg and neck consistent with a stabbing. He remains in hospital.
An investigation is ongoing. Officers believe all parties were known to each other.
Northumbria Police’s Detective Sergeant David Reeves, who is leading the investigation, said: “There is absolutely no place for incidents like this in our community and we will take robust action against anybody found to have been involved.
“This was clearly a serious assault that happened in a busy area of the town. The victim remains in hospital with multiple injuries and we will continue to offer him any support he needs.
