Daryl Janmaat lifts lid on '˜confrontation' with Newcastle fans
Daryl Janmaat has lifted the lid on his confrontation with Newcastle United fans after the club's defeat at Stoke City.
Janmaat approached the away end after the 1-0 midweek loss at the Britannia Stadium.
The defender said: “I was very emotional after the game. I didn’t want to get in a confrontation.
“It was more like I wanted to show I care, and say ‘look, I care. We need you now. It’s a really important period’.
“I have a good relationship with fans. I wanted to hear what they were feeling.”
