The Sunderland boss is speaking ahead of the second round EFL Cup match against Shrewsbury Town at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday (kick-off 7.45pm).

Moyes is expected to make changes to his side for the league cup game, ahead of Saturday's trip to Southampton in the Premier League.

Patrick van Aanholt is targeting back-to-back wins to help kick-start the season after league defeats to Manchester City and Middlesbrough.

"Our main focus is on Shrewsbury Town," said van Aanholt.

"It is a cup game and all we have to do is win.

"If we do that we will carry on to Southampton and hopefully keep a winning streak going."
