Delays on A19 after 'multi-vehicle' collision

Motorists are facing heavy delays after a multi-vehicle collision on the A19 this morning.

An incident took place just after the A690 junction on the southbound section of the road.

The fire service has closed the A19 at the site of the collision, according to reports, with traffic now being diverted onto the A690.

Traffic is thought to be backed up as far as Testos roundabout, while there is also heavy traffic on the A690, stretching back towards Sunderland.
