Eight criminals dealt with at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court

The following people have been dealt with at South Tyneside Magistrates Court.

Savannah Gray, 20, of Whitehead Street, South Shields. Ordered to pay £67 in fines and costs for fare evasion.

Samantha Welsh, 44, of East Stevenson Street, South Shields. Sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, an alcohol treatment programme of six months, and 10 days rehabilitation activity for two offences of theft.

Pearse Kavanagh, 39, of Harton Lane, South Shields. Conditionally discharged for six months, and ordered to pay £150 compensation 
and costs for criminal damage.

Robert Thornton, 34, of Tynemouth Road, Jarrow. Sentenced to a community order of 12 months, 120 hours of unpaid work, 60 days of rehabilitation activity, banned from driving for three years, and ordered to pay £300 compensation for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and driving with excess alcohol.

Damian Laverick, 40. of Epinay Walk, Jarrow. Sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months, and ordered to pay £200 costs for harassment.

Brian Bennett, of Bamburgh Grove, Jarrow. Ordered to pay £3,900 in fines and costs for failing to comply with an enforcement notice in relation to the repair of a property.

Michael Demates, 26, of Greenbank, Jarrow. Conditionally discharged for 12 months, and ordered to pay £630 compensation for criminal damage.

Anthony Hooker, 23, of Usher Road, Hebburn. Sentenced to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, disqualified from driving for 55 months, and ordered to pay £200 costs for driving while disqualified, and driving without due care and attention.

Stephen Broome, 22, of Chesterton Road, South Shields. Ordered to pay £285 in fines and costs for possession of a class B drug, and possession of an offensive weapon.
