Emergency services called to Souter Lighthouse to person in 'place of potential danger'

Emergency services are at the cliffs near Souter Lighthouse to reports of a person who could potentially be in danger.

Northumbria Police, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service and North East Ambulance Service are all reportedly at the scene off the A183 in Whitburn on Monday, March 30.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 5.30pm to the cliffs near Souter Lighthouse following reports of a person in a place of potential danger.

“We currently have a crew on scene supporting other emergency services.”
