To say thank you, they have asked for any money raised at this year’s CE Sports Christmas event at the Neon Social Club, Nairn Street, Jarrow, to be donated to the cause.

The event, which is on Friday will feature a DJ, children’s characters and party games.

Organiser Mandy Kirton said: “We have been following Kayleigh’s battle and we are all so proud of the way she has handled it.

“The party nights are a great way for people to have a fun night with all the family, and raise money for such a worthwhile charity at the same time.

“All proceeds on the night will be donated to CLIC Sargent in Kayleigh’s name.”

Earlier this year, Kayleigh’s parents Rob and Lindsey launched a fundraising drive to help fund a trip to Disneyland to give the youngster, who is a huge Princess fan, the chance to meet some of her heroes.

The family have now achieved their fundrasing total.

CLIC Sargent provides help, support and advice to children diagnosed with cancer and their families. They provide a shoulder for parents to lean on and also have specialist play workers who support youngsters who are undergoing treatment. The visit took place during Children’s Cancer Awareness month held

Tickets for the party cost £3 and are available by calling 07539 201 679.

Doors open at 7pm.

Every family receives a CLIC Sargent grant of £170 to help to fund immediate costs once a child is diagnosed.
