Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez weighs up Newcastle move
Rafa Benitez would consider an approach from Newcastle United to succeed Steve McClaren.
But the former Real Madrid and Liverpool manager would seek assurances over the club’s ambitions.
The 55-year-old, sacked by Real Madrid in January, is one of the leading contenders to replace McClaren as head coach.
Newcastle are considering their options in the wake of Saturday’s damaging 3-1 home defeat to Bournemouth, with McClaren – who took training today – unlikely to be in charge against Leicester City on Monday night.
