Former Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote death confirmed

The ex-Magpies man is reported to have collapsed on the training pitch and been rushed to hospital where he subsequently died.

His agent, this afternoon, confirmed the tragic news.

Tiote, 30, only left the United in February after five years on Tyneside, to sign for Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Enterprises.

He will always be remembered by Newcastle fans for his famous goal in the closing stages of the 4-4 draw against Arsenal in 2011.
