Four people escape from house fire at South Shields home
Two fire crews were called to reports of a house fire in a South Shields street in the late hours of Wednesday, December 4.
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS) confirmed that crews from Hebburn and Tynemouth stations attended an incident at around 11.30pm in East Close, South Shields.
The four occupants of the house had already vacated the premises when the fire service arrived.
There was smoke damage to the property and it’s believed that the cause was accidental, TWFRS said.
