Grassroots sports club announce plans for summer charity match
A grassroots charity football match will look to raise funds for youth teams.
A grassroots sports club has announced its full plan for a summer community event to raise funds for young members.
Hebburn-based community football club Clegwell FC will bring its annual charity match back this summer.
Taking place at the club’s home pitch on the town’s Mountbatten Avenue, the event will see every penny raised put back towards the club and the development of the young people who play for them.
The match traditionally takes place between coaches and parents, although people from across the community are welcome to watch, support and cheer on the teams.
Further fundraising opportunities are on offer through a 50/50 draw, which will see the winner take home 50% of the prize with the club keeping the rest, glitter tattoos and a food van.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 20 with gates opening at 11.30am before a 1pm kick off.
