'˜Heartbroken' Sarah McDonald dramatically reinstated to Commonwealth Games 1500m final
McDonald, from Cleadon, was heartbroken after finishing fifth in her heat in 4:09.54 to miss out on a spot in the final.
However, an appeal was lodged concerning Kenya’s Winny Chebet falling into her path earlier in the race, which was successful, and as a result the 24-year-old gets a place in Tuesday’s final.

“Glad to be able to take to the track again – thanks for all the support.”
Earlier, speaking immediately after the heat, McDonald had been unable to hide her disappointment.
She said: “It’s frustrating as I know I’m in really good shape and to not pull out one of my best runs, it’s heartbreaking really.
