Helicopter called again after report of someone on cliff edge in Whitburn
A police helicopter was called to assist a search of the coast following a report of someone on the cliff edge.


At around 8.30am this morning police received a report of someone on the cliff edge near to the Lizard Point car park in Whitburn.
Emergency services attended but they could not find anyone on the cliff edge and have been unable to re-contact the person who reported the incident.

Hide AdA spokesman for Northumbria Police said: "Searches of the area are being conducted to locate anyone in distress and to establish if anyone has fallen in the water.
"Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact police on 101 quoting log 215 15/10/18."
