Here's why the Great North Air Ambulance was in South Tyneside today
The Great North Air Ambulance landed in South Tyneside in response to an emergency call this afternoon.

The helicopter set down in North Street, Jarrow, close to the entrance to the pedestrian Tyne Tunnel.
A number of road ambulances were also present
A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 3.30pm to a medical situation in a private address."
