From 11am, fans will begin to make their way into the festival - but should those in attendance be wary of the weather?

The short answer is, no, according the Met Office.

Recent rain is expected to return but not until Monday so fans can enjoy acts such as The Cutkelvins, New Hope Club and The Vamps without worrying about the sky above.

Those early Sunday morning risers should see sunny spells between 7am and 10am.

And although the sun is expected to drift behind the clouds before reappearing at 7pm, there is no need to be worried as temperatures are anticipated to rise to as high as 23 degrees Celsius.

Unfortunately, rainy spells are expected throughout Monday and Tuesday but hopefully the memories of the 2018 South Tyneside Festival will keep you in good spirits for the week ahead.

What the Met Office says: “Sunday dry with sunny spells, and very warm, locally hot. Monday very warm with a small risk of showers later. Tuesday a mix of sunshine and sharp showers.”
