It's a policy set to fail

Anyone who thinks giving the Government an extra 10p per can of coke, or whatever, is going to stop kids getting fat is deluded.

It doesn’t matter if you pretend you’re going to put the extra revenue to sport in schools (blatantly a lie, as it will just go into pockets as usual), as it won’t really make a difference.

The sporty kids will maybe play a bit more sport but the fat, lazy kids will still get sicknotes from their parents, who are happy to buy them takeaway every night rather than cooking proper food. They are also the ones happy for them to sit on games consoles and tablets every night rather than going and playing out and getting some exercise.
