Jamaal Lascelles sits out Newcastle's first pre-season friendly, Sean Longstaff handed debut

Jamaal Lascelles, Paul Dummett and Jacob Murphy will sit out tonight's friendly against St Patrick's Athletic.

Newcastle United open their pre-season campaign with a game against the Dublin side at Richmond Park (7.45pm kick-off).

Captain Lascelles will miss the game with "tightness", while Murphy has a minor tendon problem. Dummett trained on his own this morning at the club's Carlton House base.

Rafa Benitez has handed midfielder Sean Longstaff and defender Josef Yarney their debuts.
