Jason, 42, who created BBC sitcom Hebburn, said: “This is going to be the best one yet. The club is selling out quite regularly so I’ve started investing in more expensive comics.

“Gary Delaney is, like, the king of Mock The Week at the minute so it’s going to be amazing to have him along. He’s got the best one-liners in the business.

“People will remember Rob Rouse from the Friday Night Project, he’s been around for years, and he once made me laugh so much that snot came out of my nose.

“I’m trying to put on the best line-ups in the North East.”

The comedy show, hosted by Jason, will also include the regular News From The North section, a fictional news broadcast delivered by the comic with the help of fellow funnyman and Hebburn star Steffen Peddie.

Jason added: “Every time we’ve done this so far I’ve dressed Steffen up as a baby, but I’m not going to this time. I’m going to dress him up as something different but I just haven’t decided what yet.

“I’m amazed with the support people have shown the Customs House and the comedy club. I just want to put on a good show and I think it’s time that South Shields had a massive comedy club, and people are really getting behind it, which is incredible.”

Tickets for the 7.45pm show cost £9. To book, go to www.customshouse.co.uk or call 0191 454 1234.
