Debbie Hogg and Norma Thirlwall say they can’t describe how excited they are to join their daughters Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall on the red carpet at the prestigious music event.

The X Factor-winning group, featuring the South Shields girls alongside Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, are up for two awards.

They’re in the running for Best British Single and British Artist Video of the Year for their No.1 hit Black Magic.

The girls, who have just announced they’ll be part of this year’s V Festival line-up, will also perform at the awards ceremony, set to be held at the O2 Arena, in London.

Jade’s mum, Norma, said: “I just can’t get my head around it – it’s so surreal. I just can’t believe I’m going to the Brits and they’ve got two nominations and to top it off, they’re going to perform as well.

“I’ve got my gown for the awards and a dress for the after-show party but I’m so nervous. Justin Bieber, Adele and all these massive stars are going to be there.

“I really hope they win because they deserve it, they’ve worked so hard this year and last year writing and recording the album. Get Weird is absolutely brilliant and they’ve got a massive tour coming up – it went from 11 to 54 dates and Europe sold out in minutes, it’s just crazy.

“When I was watching the girls on X Factor, I never thought in a million years that I’d be going to the Brits with my daughter and she’d be up for two awards – who would actually believe that would happen? I’m just so proud of her.”

Perrie’s mum, Debbie, added: “ I feel like Cinderella. I’ve got myself a cocktail dress and some new shoes – I’m ready for it but I’m scared.

“I’ve never done anything like this before but the girls do this kind of thing every day, so they wanted to take us along with them and it’s so exciting.

“Their performance is going to be out of this world as well, they’ve been rehearsing so hard for it with their choreographer and she’s done an amazing job with them.

“They work so hard and I get asked all the time how I feel about it and I’m just so proud of them. It’s just amazing to think these two girls from South Shields have done all these things, I think they’re real ambassadors for the town.

“Groups have been put together like this before, with people from different parts of the country, but when they got together it was really something special, everything they’ve done together has just been perfect.

“I really hope they win because they do deserve it, but I told Perrie that just being nominated alongside people like One Direction and Adele, who are two of the biggest music acts in the world, is amazing.

“If they win, I’ll probably pass out with excitement. It would just be the icing on the cake.”

Tune in to watch the Brit Awards at 8pm on ITV1 tomorrow.
