Man taken to hospital after suspected stabbing on South Shields street

Northumbria Police officers were alerted by the North East Ambulance Service after its paramedics were called to an incident on Marsden Lane in South Shields yesterday evening, Sunday, December 13.
The 37-year-old was taken to hospital, where he remains today.

Hide AdA spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “At 6.15pm yesterday we were alerted by the ambulance service to a suspected stabbing on Marsden Lane, South Shields.
“Officers attended and found a 37-year-old man with injuries to his leg consistent with having been caused by a stabbing.
"He was taken to hospital where he remains with non-life threatening injuries.
“An investigation is ongoing into the incident.
