Here we have nine beautiful dogs hoping to find their forever home.
Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter helps animals across the region who are lost, unwanted, neglected, abused or abandoned. And they help find new homes for those ready for a new family.
Amongst their selection, there are Siberian Huskies, Greyhounds and Belgian Shepherds- as well as some gorgeous crossbreeds.
Take a look.

5. Matilda (Bully crossbreed, one year)
Matilda is a really lovely girl. She is a fun dog with a pleasant disposition…and a glint of cheeky mischief in her eyes. Matilda has been a good girl throughout her stay with us, though is ever so slightly nervous of our vets and can shy away a little. Matilda is a strong girl so will need an owner who is confident they can handle her whilst training her to walk a little better on her lead. Ideally, Matilda would love a big back garden to play in as she likely won’t get too much off lead time when out on walks, so this would be a huge bonus for her so she can burn off some of that energy! | NDCS Photo: Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter

6. Jacob (Spaniel cross, seven years)
Jacob is a sweet lad who has found the change in his circumstances a little difficult to deal with. Jacob has clearly been a very loved boy by his previous owner, and was settled and confident in his home; however, in the shelter he is stressed and anxious and feels very overwhelmed so has been quite tense. He is a gorgeous boy and once he feels comfortable, you get to see his delightful spaniel wiggle as his bottom wags from side to side! Jacob needs an understanding and patient home who will give him the time and space to acclimatise to the huge changes that have recently happened to him. | NDCS Photo: Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter

7. McKendle (Bully crossbreed, six months)
McKendle is a gorgeous young lad. He is affectionate and loving, and has been very sweet throughout his stay with us. He can have his moments where he is a little timid and unsure about the world around him, but he comes round quickly and has made friends with everyone he has met so we are confident that, in the right home, he will build his confidence and flourish into a wonderful young boy! McKendle would benefit from someone with bully experience and who will be able to manage his size as he grows as we suspect he is going to be a big lad! McKendle will need a confident owner who is happy to dedicate plenty of time and focus on training him so that, when fully grown, he knows his manners and doesn’t pull, jump up at people etc. | NDCS Photo: Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter

8. Priscilla (Siberian Husky, two years)
Priscilla is an adorable girl but is very timid when she first meets new people. Once she has gotten to know you she is very affectionate and will rub herself against you for attention She is an intelligent girl who is looking for a home who can not only tire her body, but her brain out too! She is really switched on and enjoys going for adventures off site and we feel she would love to see more of the big world out there, perhaps a home where she will get to go out hiking would be a great match for her Priscilla has met a variety of dogs whilst in our care, and we feel she hasn’t been too well socialised and would benefit from further socialisation around other dogs, at her own pace and in her own time | NDCS Photo: Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter
