Commuters face delays this morning as a failed train causes disruption on the Metro system.
There are currently delays of up to 20 minutes between Whitley Bay and St James and up to 15 minutes between South Gosforth and South Shields.
The news comes after vandals caused delays between St James and South Shields last night.
