Metros back on between Jarrow and South Shields - but delayed

The Metro service between Jarrow and South Shields is back on after being suspended this afternoon.

Tyne and Wear Metro has tweeted earlier that trains were off due to a “technical fault”.

Tickets were being accepted on the Go North East bus service number 27.

However, trains are now running again but subject to 15 minute delays.

It has been just a few hours since Metro advised trains were running 15 minutes late between Gateshead Stadium and South Shields and South Hylton due to vandalism.
