Mike Williamson reveals why he left Newcastle and joined Wolves

The defender today completed a £250,000 move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Williamson had had a brief loan spell at Molineux late last year.

The 32-year-old said: “I think it sometimes difficult to explain but you can feel at home at a football club and feel comfortable as soon as you come in.

“That’s with the players, the staff and the fans – I really enjoyed my month here and was always keen to come back."

Williamson has signed an 18-month deal with the Championship club.
