Missing man found safe after search along South Shields and Sunderland coastline

Volunteers joined the emergency services in tracking down a missing man today.

Northumbria Police called on the help of HM Coastguard's Sunderland-based team, South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade and Tynemouth RNLI at around 2pm after the man was reported missing.

Following a search between South Shields and Sunderland, the man was found safe.
