Multi-titled world champions to host exclusive sportsman dinner in South Shields


Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales are heading to South Shields, to host a sportsman dinner.
The event, organised by long-time boxing coach Martyn Devlin, will be the pair’s only North East appearance.

Hide AdThe Mexican boxers have fought each other in three fights that have been described as being “amongst the best in the history of world boxing.”
Mr Devlin, who has helped coach countless youngsters in South Tyneside in amateur boxing, said: “It will be a momentous sporting dinner with two world boxing legends on one night.”
The event will be held at the Hedworth Hall in Dean Road, South Shields on Thursday March 30.
The evening will include: dinner, big screen fight clips, your opportunity to put a question to the legends about their careers, a photo and autograph opportunity.

Hide AdBarrera has held multiple world championships in three weight classes - including the WBO super bantamweight, the WBC super featherweight and the IBF super featherweight.
Morales was the first Mexican-born boxer in history to win world titles in four different weight classes.
He held the WBC super bantamweight; the WBO super bantamweight title and the WBC featherweight twice.
During the course of his career Morales defeated fifteen world champions.
