A story about a group of young men set in and around South Shields during the early 1970s has been published at the start of the month (June).
‘Nay Place Like Yem’ is a sequel to the 2022 book ‘Garn Yem’, from Haydn Watson.
The book portrays some true events from the time period, with fictional characters used to tell the story.

Haydn has stated that the narrative creates a picture of young people “grasping life with both hands” as the publication details friendship and all the emotions that come with it.
The story details sadness, humour, love and tragedy all based in a setting that is familiar to local readers.
Having been writing for 12 years, it is the fourth book that Haydn has published, with his previous titles being ‘A LifeNavigated’, ‘What Have We Done?’ and ‘Garn Yem’.
