New dates announced for ultra-marathon Race to the Castle in Northumberland

Heineken Race to the Castle was due to take place on June 6 and 7, 2020, from Kirkharle to Bamburgh Castle, but this year’s event had to be cancelled due to coronovirus.
Now organisers Threshold Sports has revealed new provisional dates for the endurance event of June 26-27, 2021.

Participants will start in Kirkharle and make their way through the world-renowned Northumberland National Park where they will have to overcome a variety of terrains including hilly woodland and stunning moorlands. The route then changes to one of the most awe-inspiring but challenging coastlines of the North East.
Here, participants are faced with sandy trails all the way to the finish at the spectacular Bamburgh Castle.
Threshold Sports offer the option to complete the challenge non-stop, or across two days, where you can relax at the midway Basecamp. With hot food, bars, a stretching area, music, hot showers and your own two-person tent, it offers a place to unwind, relax and recharge for the next day.
