Newcastle strengthen Under-21 squad

The pair, both 20, have joined the club's Under-21 squad ahead of the new campaign.

Forward El-Mhanni and defender Findlay have signed professional deals at the club.

El-Mhanni had a spell at Chelsea last season, while Findlay left Celtic this summer.

Peter Beardsley, United's football development manager, said: "It's exciting for them, it's exciting for us and it's a really good thing for the club.

"Steve Nickson and his recruitment staff have done their homework and done really well, and we're excited.

"They're good lads, they're nice lads and they mix well with the group, and that for me is the most important thing."
