Newcastle United new boy Dwight Gayle is favourite with bookmakers to be the Championship's top scorer this season.

The striker heads bet365’s betting for the 2016/17 campaign after his £10million move from Crystal Palace.

Fellow Mapgie Aleksandar MItrovic is also prominent in the betting as are Ross McCormack, Rudy Gestede and the fit again Britt Assombalonga.

bet365’s Steve Freeth said: “The £10m man knows the division and with players like Matt Ritchie providing the ammunition, Gayle looks to have a favourite’s chance of taking the scoring honours.”
