Newcastle suffer fresh injury blow

The midfielder has joined Christian Atsu and Jesus Gamez in the club's treatment room after suffering an injury in Monday night's defeat to Everton.

Merino had come off the bench at Goodison Park, where Newcastle were beaten 1-0.

The 21-year-old, signed from Borussia Dortmund last year, has been used sparingly by Rafa Benitez in the second half of the season.

Winger Atsu also has a knee problem and will miss tomorrow's game, while defender Gamez has been sidelined for some time with an ankle injury.
