Newcastle United news: £21m transfer blow, fans hit back over Pardew, Mitrovic boost
Newcastle United's hunt for Saido Berahino took another twist this morning.

The Magpies had a £21million bid for the West Brom striker rejected last month, but are understood to be willing to try and sign the player again in the summer should they secure their Premier League status.
However, West Brom boss Tony Pulis has revealed Berahino wants to play for a Champions League club, with Spurs also interested in the player in the past.
Pulis said: “He wants to play for a top-four team.
“I don’t think it is the money, it is the opportunity and the chance to show how good he is.

Meanwhile, our fan blogger has hit back at criticism of Newcastle supporters in the past over Alan Pardew.
Fan site GallowgateShots.com have insisted Toon fans were right about Pardew’s capability as a manager, despite criticism from the likes of former England striker Ian Wright.
The blog reads: “It’s no surprise that the media outlets have gone quiet over the last few weeks when it comes to touting Sir Alan for the England job. After a successful start, he’s finally showing his true colours.”
