Newcastle United's fight against relegation has been given a lift with some good news on the injury front '“ while an England star is ready to step up his injury return against them.

Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to turn out against the Magpies’ Under-21s tomorrow.

The playmaker has been out for the majority of the season, but hasn;t given up hope of making Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the Euros this summer.

However, the main focus this weekend will be on St Mary’s Stadium as Newcastle take on Southampton, and they could be boosted by the return of skipper Fabricio Coloccini.

The Argentine and fellow defender Paul Dummett have stepped up their training this week.
