Newcastle United news: Townsend fee agreed, Berahino next on wanted list, triple injury boost


It has been a long drawn out pursuit but the deal looks set to finally be completed with the England international now expected to travel to Tyneside to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.
Boss Steve McClaren has remained tight-lipped on transfer activity this month but the big-money signing of Townsend is unlikely to be the last of the spending.

It would take a bid in excess of £20million to persuade West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace to sanction an exit for Berahino.
