Newcastle United transfer news: Chelsea and Liverpool monitor Sissoko; Brighton turn bid down

The French midfielder has revealed he wants to quit the Magpies this summer after their relegation from the Premier League.

And the first concrete interest in his signature appears to have come from Bundisliga side Hamburg.

They are reported to have put a £9.5million bid in for the 26-year-old.

The story was first reported by influential French outfit L’Equipe, who also claim that Chelsea and Liverpool have enquired about Sissoko.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have long been linked with a move for highly-rated Brighton defender Lewis Dunk.

And there are claims that the Seagulls have turned down an offer from an unnamed side for the centre-half.

Chief executive Paul Barber confirmed they had “firmly rejected” a bid for the 24–year-old, who has also been linked with Everton and Crystal Palace.
