North East vigil for killed MP Jo Cox
A vigil is taking place tonight to remember the female MP who was shot and stabbed to death in an attack which shocked the world.

Jo Cox, 41, died after the attack in her West Yorkshire constituency on Thursday.
Colleagues, friends, wellwishers up and down the country and around the globe have been remembering her today, with a special vigil planned for this evening at 7pm at Palace Green.

Hide AdDurham City MP Roberta Blackman-Woods said the event was open to anyone who wished to "celebrate the life and remember brilliant" the mum of two, who had been tipped as a rising star and hailed for her service and desire for a better world.
