North East woman airlifted to hospital after suffering chainsaw injury to arm and chest
Elderly woman airlifted to hospital after sustaining a chainsaw injury to her arm and chest.
The Great North Air Ambulance was dispatched with a doctor and paramedic after the woman, said to be aged between 71-80, suffered the wound.
Her injuries are said to be non life-threatening. She was flown to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary for specialist hospital treatment.
The incident happened at about 12.20pm today in Wall, Northumberland.
