Just one council house tenant was evicted for rent arrears in Hebburn in the past financial year, latest figures show.

The sole culprit was removed from their property on Thursday, June 22, a report by South Tyneside housing chiefs reveals.

The eviction was in the Hebburn North council ward.

Figures also show that the Hebburn area was £30,000 under its financial target for rent arears as of July.

Housing area management bosses at South Tyneside Homes, South Tyneside Council’s housing management arm, describe the figure as "excellent".
