EMMA LEWELL-BUCK: The kindness being shown will continue over Christmas

Christmas will be very different this year. Many of you have agonised over the temporary bubble arrangements and what to do.
Every single day has reminded me of just how much we value each other.Every single day has reminded me of just how much we value each other.
Every single day has reminded me of just how much we value each other.

I know that for each family it will be different, but I also know we will all be doing our very best to keep vulnerable members of our family as safe as possible.

This year many of us have lost loved ones, suffered the pain of loneliness or the hardship of losing a job or your business endure hardship.

These are effects of this awful pandemic we and the rest of the world will be dealing with for years to come.

However, in amongst that difficultly and all the sacrifices we have had to make I have seen love and kindness in every single part of our constituency.

Every single day has reminded me of just how much we value each other. I have seen key workers keep going no matter what, people volunteering setting up their own community support networks, taking time out to check on their neighbours, donating to local charities and supporting local businesses in every way they can.

I know this kindness will continue over Christmas, please do reach out to those who are less fortunate or alone.

Thank you everyone in South Shields, I am so proud of you all for showing that even in a pandemic this is the best place and the best community to be a part of.

Hope you have a peaceful Christmas.
