Albums mean different things to different people, but there is very little better than knowing a record was formed in the scenery of your day to day life.
With that in mind, these are some of our picks for the top albums to have come out of the North East.

5. Nadine Shah - Holiday Destination
South Shields local Nadine Shah has seen plenty of highs over her short career so far, but having 2018’s Holiday Destinatino nominated for the Mercury Prize has to be up there near the top. 6. Sting - ...Nothing Lie The Sun
Wallsend born Sting released his second solo album in 1987 - one year after The Police announced their split. The record was named as the 90th best album of the 80s by Rolling Stone and includes singles like ‘Englishman in New York’ and ‘Fragile’. | AFP via Getty Images

7. Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
Eurythmics is the brainchild of Annie Lennox and Sunderland’s Dave Stewart. Their 1983 album may be overshadowed by the success of the title track, but there is plenty to enjoy later in the record as well. | Eurythmics
