Pellegrini warns Manchester City must not take Sunderland lightly

Manuel Pellegrini has warned Manchester City that will have to be on top of their game to beat Sunderland.

The Chilean's announcement that he will leave the club this summer, to be succeeded by Pep Guardiola, stole the headlines on a subdued transfer deadline day.

A win for City at the Stadium of Light tomorrow could take them back above surprise leaders Leicester City at the top of the Premier League table.

But he has warned that he is staking nothing for granted against Sunderland, who have beaten City in four of their last league visits to Wearside.

Pellegrini said: "It is always a very difficult game, they are a team fighting not to be relegated.

"They will play every ball as a final, to win the game. That happens in all games in the Premier League.

"If you don't play with 100 per cent intensity and concentration you are not going to win."
