On what would have been one of the busiest days of the year on the seafront in South Shields, popular spots have been deserted as people choose to follow the government guidelines at stay at home
As we head into the Easter weekend under lockdown, Colmans fish and chip shop was a strange sight to behold without the usual queues of people waiting for their Good Friday fish and chips.
Other popular holiday spots such as Ocean Beach Pleasure Park remain closed and the seafront was unusually quiet.
