South Shields’ beaches were the perfect place to enjoy a day in the sunshine as families and friends headed for the coast to take in the sun and enjoy the warm weather today, Wednesday, June 24 – the hottest day of the year so far.
The temperature reached 27C in South Shields as visitors flocked to the seaside to enjoy the sunshine.
