South Tyneside has been enjoying the bank holiday sunshine

After weeks of bleak weather, South Tyneside has finally been enjoying some sunshine over the bank holiday weekend.

And while the borough missed out on the high temperatures seen elsewhere in the UK – rising past 20 degrees in some parts – people were still keen to get out and make the most of the sunshine.

The seafront and parks were naturally popular spots today, with a special bank holiday market also pulling in visitors.
