The announcement came on the Bradley Lowery Foundation Facebook page, a charity set up following the death of the couple’s six-year-old son Bradley.

Bradley died in 2017 following a battle with neuroblastoma cancer. His bravery and spirit inspired families across the North East and beyond.

As the news broke, the North East community rallied around with messages of love and support.

Here’s what you had to say on our social media pages:

Lisa Harrison: "This is lovely news, a gift from Bradley as he knows how much of good parents you are. Bless you, congratulations.”
