Chase star Shaun to open new homes

The Chase star Shaun Wallace is set to officially open new accommodation for homeless people in South Shields this Christmas.

Organisations Homeless Worldwide and Newcastle-based Supporting Lives have teamed up to open two new homes at Beach Road this Friday, December 6, in a bid to tackle homelessness in South Tyneside.

The new homes have been refurbished to a high standard and will cater for up to 50 people in need.

All residents will be DBS checked, random drug tests are carried out and support is on hand to ensure everyone’s safety.

Jenny Roberts, founded organisation Homeless Worldwide after her own brother died on the streets in London, just before Christmas in 2017.

It’s her mission to keep taking homeless off the streets.

And on Friday, December 6, Jenny will be officially open the organisation’s third home – along with ambassador Shaun Wallace from TV show The Chase and Patron Duncan Norvelle, the comedian ‘Chase Me.’

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will start at 1.30pm.

She said: “I am delighted about ‘Homeless Worldwide’s’ partnership with ‘Supporting Lives,’ and with the wonderful team and ambassadors now working with us.

“Love and care have taken precedence, to help offer a new life to the vulnerable at this cold time of year.”

Jenny has a special connection to the North East as her mother grew up in South Shields and her father grew up in Wallsend.

Homeless Worldwide was formed to raise money and awareness for 'homeless and veteran' charities in London and the UK.
