Comedian Sarah Millican 'gutted' as pandemic forces her to reschedule number of summer tour dates

South Shields comedian Sarah Millican has postponed a number of her summer tour dates, saying it is ‘the right thing to do’ at this stage in the coronavirus pandemic.

The much-loved entertainer was due to kick off her Bobby Dazzler tour in May 2021 and had a number of North East performances scheduled amongst her packed calendar of shows.

But now the comedy star has written to fans explaining that shows booked for May and June will now take place either later in the year or in 2022, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Sarah Millican said that she was ‘gutted’ to have to reschedule the dates but stressed that the safety of fans was the most important thing, going on to say the delay was ‘the right thing to do.’

In her message to fans, Sarah Millican said: “Hello you absolute smashers.

“I’m so sorry to have to do this but we’ve made the decision to reschedule the Bobby Dazzler tour dates from May and June 2021 to later in the tour. I’m gutted but it’s the right thing to do.

“We are very much hoping that the tour will start in July 2021 but we will keep you posted if that changes.

Affected performances include the Durham Gala Theatre show on Friday, May 7, which has now been moved to Friday, September 3, 2021.

The show scheduled the following day, Saturday, May 8, at the same venue, will now take place a year later, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Newcastle shows have also been affected, with the gig booked for Friday, June 11, now set to take place the following year, on Friday, September 30, 2022.

The following day’s gig scheduled at the same venue on Saturday, June 12, has been moved to Saturday, October 1, 2022.

Ticket holders have been told that they don’t need to do anything at this stage, as tickets will be valid for the rescheduled dates.

The venue or ticket agent where tickets were purchased will contact customers with full details of the date change and what to do if they cannot attend the new date.
