Crowds flock to parks and beaches as temperatures soar

As temperatures rose across South Tyneside, families made a trip to the seaside to make the most of the warm weather.

With temperatures reaching around 23°C in parts, huge crowds flocked to the likes of Sandhaven and Little Haven beaches to enjoy a day in the sun.

After weeks of life under strict lockdown, because of the coronavirus pandemic, many people were keen for a change of scene from their own homes as restrictions were eased.

With unlimited exercise outdoors now permitted and permission granted to travel, many people were keen to make the most of their newfound freedoms and enjoyed a trip to the seaside.
