‘Excited’ and ‘quietly confident’ – Hebburn Town fans look ahead to the FA Vase final at Wembley

Hebburn Town FC fans have been looking ahead of the club’s appearance in the FA Vase final at Wembley Stadium of Monday, May 3, however due to coronavirus restriction, fans are still not allowed to attend football matches in person.

Hide AdGed, 59, and Christine Barker 62, were among the fans cheering the players on and did have tickets for the final before it was postponed due to the pandemic.


Health service worker Christine said: “I think that they will do it, it’s disappointing that we can’t go down as we did have tickets but we have a chance of getting back there in a few weeks so hopefully we’ll be able to then.
Production operator Ged added: “I’m quietly confident as we have been playing well recently and it is good to have two local teams in the final however I want Hebburn to win obviously."
NHS worker Peter Richardson was showing his support for The Hornets with his three-year-old son, Bowen, with the duo set to watch the game at home.

The 36-year-old commented: “I’m excited and a little bit nervous at the same time but I’m sure that they’ll do well.
"I had booked up to go down the first time round but this time I’ll be sat in front of the TV watching it.”
